EBay sellers - does it work as a business?

In desperation after looking for work in London for 4 months without success despite a good professional background and skills, I am thinking of advertising myself as a conduit for people who don't know how or can't be bothered - to sell their EBay stuff through me. Are there any particular mistakes (like I already know I am not going to store stuff for people and that I will take no responsibility for stuff that is overpriced or doesn't sell. I will bear the costs of the listings and shipping and do ALL the work....in exchange for a 50/50 cut. OK folks, tell me how you did it, what DOESN'T work and what does. I don't want to spend all day going through junk stores. I have a number of wealthy friends (lucky me) who actually get tired of their expensive clobber before it wears out. And they know lots more rich ladies....so there is my proposed "stock". My proposal would be that if they were going to give it to charity anyway, why not let me try to sell it. I have a good camera, and wi-fi at my disposal. Let's hear it and please - no wiseacre answers. This is a genuine effort to make an honest living and I need advise on how to by-p pitfalls. Notice, I am not marketing myself as I haven't given out an Ebay store address. This is not self-promotion as my yahoo sign in has nothing to do with my EBay account. Thanks Universe!
