If people say purity rings are just useless symbols, why not get rid of wedding rings? ?

There seems to be a lot of angst against abstinence and purity rings here today. Yes, we all know it's not a chastity belt, but if a young person wants to free themselves from the bonds of casual and all the diseases, unplanned pregnancies and heartache that go along with it, what do you care if they want to wear a simple ring as a reminder? People who are married for real often can't stay out of someone else's' pants, so why wear wedding rings either. And cl rings don't make you graduate, let's chuck those too.
